In a move that marks a significant shift in its accessory ecosystem, Apple has shifted away from Lightning port-compatible accessories, a mainstay since its introduction with the iPhone 5 in 2012. The transition comes on the heels of the recent launch of the iPhone 15 lineup, which has embraced the more universally accepted USB-C port.
